Our approach

Croft & Cleo is a small, independent business rooted in the landscape of the Scottish Highlands. That connection to place gives us a deep respect for the natural world, and we try to reflect that in the choices we make as a business.

We are honest that we are on a journey. We are a small team working to make more considered decisions — about the products we choose, the packaging we use and the way we operate — and we are committed to improving over time.

What we choose to stock

We take care when selecting the products we offer. We look for pieces that are well made, thoughtfully designed and built to endure. Quality and longevity sit at the heart of everything we curate — we would rather offer fewer, better things than fill our shelves with products unlikely to stand the test of time.

We seek out products made with natural materials where possible, and we favour makers and brands who share a commitment to craft and quality. We do not make claims about specific certifications, sourcing or ethical standards unless we have confirmed these directly with our suppliers.

Packaging

We pack every order with care, using recyclable materials where possible. We aim to avoid unnecessary plastic and to use appropriately sized packaging to reduce waste. This is something we are always working to improve.

Delivery

We deliver within the UK only, which helps to limit the environmental footprint of long-distance shipping. We encourage customers to consolidate their orders where possible to reduce the number of individual deliveries.

A note on honesty

We will not make claims about sustainability, sourcing or environmental impact that we cannot support with evidence. If you have a question about a specific product, please get in touch and we will do our best to find out.

We believe that honesty with our customers is more valuable than using sustainability as a marketing tool. We are proud of the steps we are taking, and straightforward about the steps still to come.
