Valais Blacknose Sheep Slate Coasters

A set of hand-finished Highland slate coasters, each one engraved with the portrait of a Valais Blacknose sheep — the shaggy, curious-faced breed that has quietly become a favourite far beyond its native Swiss valleys. Four different poses are available, so no two coasters in a set look quite the same.

The four designs:

• The Grazer — standing square to the camera, hill mist rolling behind.
• Resting in the Heather — settled into the grass, quite at home.
• By the Loch — turned side-on, water just visible on the horizon.
• Face to Face — a close, textured portrait of that famously woolly fringe.

Size: 10cm x 10cm, finished with foam feet on the underside to protect furniture and worktops.

Personalisation: available free of charge — if you'd like a name or initials engraved on the front, or a short message on the back, add your wording to the “Name, date or message to engrave” box on this page before you add to your basket. We engrave exactly what's submitted, so do double-check spelling and capitalisation first.

Available individually — choose your favourite design — or as a set of four, one of each. Each piece is engraved into genuine Highland slate, so slight natural variation in grain and edge is part of the material rather than a flaw.

Why we love this: There's something quietly fitting about a Highland animal engraved into Highland stone — it's the sort of coaster set that gets picked up and looked at properly, not just used.

Good to know: orders are usually dispatched within 2–3 working days, or from 25th October for orders placed while we're away, sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48. If you've added personalisation, please allow a little longer, as each piece is engraved to order. Not quite right for you? Non-personalised pieces can be returned within 30 days of delivery — just get in touch and we'll sort it. As these are made specifically for you, personalised pieces can't be returned unless damaged or faulty.
